FAQ
Q. How old
should my baby be before they are able to sit in the seat of a
jogger? A. Our strollers and joggers can be used for children from
approximately six months to five years old. We do not recommend
placing your baby in the seat of the jogger until they are able
to sit up and hold their head up without assistance.
Q. How can
I use your strollers with an infant? A. Our City,
Performance and Q-Series single strollers have a
car seat adaptor or bassinet/pram available to accommodate a
newborn, so you can use your Baby Jogger from birth and beyond.
It is important to remember though, that newborns are more
vulnerable to outside conditions and should be appropriately
protected from the heat, cold, and wind. Also, babies should
have ample neck support – you can use a rolled up cloth diaper
or any number of neck supports sold at baby stores or through
babyjogger.com.
Q. Do you
have a car seat adaptor for your double strollers? A. We
have not yet developed a car seat adaptor for our double
strollers, but we are in the process of creating one. As a
company we strive to create the safest, most reliable products
on the market. We are one of the few companies that safety
tests all applicable stroller accessories in addition to our
strollers, so development can sometimes take longer. We know
that a car seat adaptor can be a determining factor in a
stroller purchase, but we are working hard to create a car seat
adaptor for our double strollers that will meet our high
standards of safety and quality.
However, we now offer an option for carrying an infant in the
City Classic and City Elite double strollers. The Soft Pram is
a new accessory for 2008 that lies in the seat of the stroller
and straps on to the frame. The Soft Pram comes with carrying
straps so that you can easily transport your baby to and from
the stroller. For support reasons the Soft Pram is only
compatible with the City Classic and City Elite single and
double strollers.

Q. What
does the weight capacity of your stroller mean? A. The
weight capacity of our strollers includes the weight of
the child or children, any items you are placing in the storage
compartments and any accessories you are attaching. For
example, if you are placing two 50 lb. children in a double
stroller with a weight capacity of 100 lbs., you will exceed the
weight capacity of the stroller by placing any items in the
storage compartments or adding accessories. When using a double
stroller, we recommend an even weight distribution on both sides
of the stroller.
Q.
What is an EVA
wheel versus a Pneumatic Tire? A. An EVA wheel is a
lightweight molded plastic wheel that is
ideal for pavement or smooth urban terrain. This wheel is
available on our City Mini stroller, which helps to make it one
of the most lightweight, compact strollers on the market.
A pneumatic tire is an inflatable rubber tire that provides a
comfortable, smooth ride on many different terrains. With the
exception of the City Mini, Baby Jogger strollers and joggers
have pneumatic tires, which add to their all-terrain
capabilities.
Q. Which
wheel size is right for me? A. We’ve devised the following
guidelines so you can choose the
right wheel size for your needs:
8” Wheel –
Ideal for indoor strolls, walking on pavement or smooth urban
terrain. These smaller lightweight wheels are perfect for city
dwellers who need a compact stroller for every day use. Please
view our City Mini stroller for this wheel size.
12” Wheel –
Perfect for walking on grass, trails, sidewalks or in stores.
Wonderful for city life where smaller wheels offer a more
compact, maneuverable stroller. You will fall in love with the
12” stroller if you have previously owned a conventional
stroller. Please view our City Series strollers or ATS
stroller/jogger for this wheel size.
16” Wheel –
Our most popular wheel size due to its versatility. Great for
walking or jogging and is still very easy to store and
transport. It’s large enough to handle snow and sand yet still
small enough to fit into tight spaces. Please view our ATS
stroller/jogger or the Q-Series for this wheel size.
20” Wheel –
Serious runners adore this model! It’s easy to maneuver and
provides a very smooth ride for the child. This large wheel
easily handles rough terrain. Please view our Performance
Series, Q-Series Triple, or Switchback Hybrid trailer/jogger for
this wheel size.
Q. Can I
use the City Series line to run with? A. The City Series
line of strollers is not intended for
jogging purposes. The City Series is a line of all-terrain
strollers that give you optimum versatility for every day use.
Q. Do all
of your strollers have a full seat recline? A. Only our
City Series line of strollers have a full seat
recline as this stroller is not recommended for jogging or
running.
Q. Do your
strollers fold? A. Our Q-Series, City Series strollers, and
Switchback Hybrid
Trailer/Jogger feature our patented Quick-Fold technology. Just
pull the clearly marked “FOLD” handle, and the stroller
collapses into an easily loadable, easily storable unit. This
is quite possible the easiest fold on the market today.
Our ATS
stroller folds compactly with two quick-release triggers. Simply
squeeze the triggers while lowering the handle. Then lift up on
the strap in the center of the seat.
Our
Performance Series joggers have a quick-release locking
mechanism that makes folding them a breeze. Remove the
quick-release wheels, and the jogger folds flat to fit into your
closet or car trunk.
Q. Can
I use a buggy board with your strollers? A. Baby Jogger is currently developing
an accessory called the Glider Board; it is expected to be available
in Winter 2010. The Glider Board will attach to the rear axle of any
single or double stroller and provides an area for an older child to
ride along. It is not compatible with the F.I.T., Performance or
Switchback models and should not be used with the Summit while jogging.
Buggy Boards made by other manufacturers are not recommended for use
with Baby Jogger strollers.
Q. Is the
fabric washable? A. Yes, the seat and canopies of our strollers
and joggers are
made from strong, lightweight, washable fabrics which are easily
detachable from the frame. The seat should be washed in cold
water on the delicate cycle of your washing machine and attached
back onto the stroller to dry.
Q. How
much air should I put in my tires? A. The PSI (pounds
per square inch) will be in raised lettering
on the side of the tire. You can use a standard bicycle pump to
inflate your tires, or purchase a Baby Jogger air pump that will
clamp on to the frame of the stroller for quick inflation on the
go.
Q. Is your
stroller safe? A. Yes! Safety comes first at the Baby Jogger
Company. We
test and retest our products to ensure that all our current
strollers either meet or exceed ASTM, EN 1888 and TUV testing
standards for strollers and carriages. Did we
mention that ASTM, EN 1888 and TUV are some of the most widely
recognized testing agencies in the world? Remember, we are the
original Baby Jogger Company and that means we have over 20
years of experience caring for your precious cargo.
Q. Are
your strollers covered by a warranty? A. Yes, we stand by our
products here at the Baby Jogger
Company. Our frames are backed by a lifetime warranty against
manufacturer defects. The fabrics, wheels, tires and other
components carry a one-year warranty. Remember, when calling in
a warranty claim, please have your item number, serial number,
manufacturer date stamp and proof of purchase in hand to
expedite the process.
