Product Origins

Made in Michigan, USA.
About Goodbyn
| We are a small
company in Seattle who had a little idea to reinvent the way kids eat
lunch—making lunchtime easier, more inspiring and fun for both kids and
parents.
From the beginning, we decided to be as transparent as possible about
our decisions as a company: how we produce, ship and get product to
market. Below, you’ll find information about our materials, suppliers,
vendors and craftsmen whose unrelenting energy has made Goodbyn
possible. |
 |
Conceived in Chicago
and Seattle |
| As we created a concept for the
Goodbyn and researched kids’ eating habits, we wanted a team of people
who meshed with our beliefs, but had the unique background of
research-driven, modern product design. We thought we’d be searching for
a while, but (almost immediately) we were able to form a dream team
with the expertise and design aesthetic that enables Goodbyn to look as
cool as it does while making lunchtime for kids smarter than ever. |
 |
Born in the USA! |
| All of Goodbyn’s
products are manufactured in Michigan at Cascade Engineering. They were
Byndoo’s choice from the beginning because of their capabilities in
engineering, an impressive client list, and high-volume manufacturing
capacity.
We also preferred Cascade because of their transparency in labor and
environmental ethics. They have garnered innumerable awards and
certifications for their stewardship to the environment, their employees
and community, and setting a new standard by which all other companies
will measure themselves in the future. |
 |
Dressed Up in
Washington |
| We chose to use a local printer in Washington state, because they
offered local quality with corporate efficiencies. They are
FSC-certified and are very much in-tune with their waste and recycling
procedures. We utilize their unique printing expertise with
vegetable-based inks, recycled materials, and water-based solvent
adhesives.
We also use their warehouse to store, assemble and fulfill orders for
Goodbyn. They’re the last link in the chain before Goodbyns reach their
next destination: the store shelves and really excited kids. |

FAQ
Q: Why is the Goodbyn lunchbox made out of plastic?
A: The Goodbyn lunchbox is made out of plastic to keep your lunch
safe, sealed, and unharmed in its journey to work or school. The hard
plastic shell ensures that even food returning from school or work will
come back in one piece! We use virgin plastics to comply with the FDA
for food contact and children's safety requirements (most post-consumer
recycled plastics are not FDA approved). In the future, we hope to use
100% recycled plastic as our base material for all of our products, and
are working hard at finding a single-source plastics recycler to do just
that! |
|
Q: Is the plastic of
the Goodbyn lunchbox safe?
A: Your Goodbyn lunchbox is made from recyclable food-safe
plastics: #5 polypropylene (lunchbox and bottle lid) and #2 high-density
polyethylene (bottle). They are approved by the FDA, are the most
benign of all plastics on the market, and are lead, BPA and
phthalate-free.The Goodbyn lunchbox also meets CPSIA testing standards.
|
|
Q: Is Goodbyn
lunchbox microwaveable?
A: While Goodbyn lunchbox's plastic is stable enough to place in a
microwave, most research shows that heating plastic is not a safe
practice, no matter what kind of plastic. At Byndoo, we do not endorse
heating the Goodbyn lunchbox in a microwave.
|
|
Q: What do I do with
the Goodbyn lunchbox after I am through with it?
A: If you wish to part with your Goodbyn lunchbox for any reason,
you’ll be happy to hear that your Goodbyn lunchbox is completely
recyclable. All of the pieces are made of #5 polypropylene and #2
high-density polyethylene, and can be placed in your regular recycling
container.

opening and closing their Goodbyns than others. We are definitely busy
developing products for all age groups! |
Q: What are the
best ways to pack a Goodbyn?
A: The Goodbyn is ideal for sandwiches,
leftovers, fruits, veggies,

water, juice or even salad dressing or a smoothie. The Goodbyn seals
tightly, but we do not suggest placing thin liquids in the larger
compartments. |
