Sunshine Kids Juvenile Products are the ideal
solution for today’s “on
the go” family, with state-of-the-art product designs that combine
safety and convenience so that every family excursion can be the
enjoyable experience it was meant to be.
Since the very
beginning, Sunshine Kids has worked to solve the real worries and
hassles that parents face everyday. Our first product, in fact, was
born from a small but momentous family discussion following a
documentary which demonstrated the consequences of improperly secured
car seats in collision situations. Within the year, the purposeful kin
had created a prototype that would come to be known as Mighty-Tite®—the
world’s first and only seatbelt tightener—designed for ease of use and
dependable peace of mind.
At its debut at the Juvenile
Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) show in October 1999,
Sunshine Kids’ Mighty-Tite—still in prototype form—took home the “Show
Off” Product Innovation Award, along with a number of preorders from
attendees who quickly recognized the promise this solution offered.
Mighty-Tite
went on to win the Good Housekeeping Award in 2001, and the “Most
Innovative Product” Award from Mother & Baby a year later.
By
then, Mighty-Tite’s reputation had already crossed the Atlantic, and
Sunshine Kids had officially established its first overseas wholesale
operation in Staffordshire, England, serving chain and independent
retailers throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
2002 also
marked two new product introductions, both of which also made their
entrance at the annual JPMA show. One was the Super Mat, a popular
product fashioned to contour to any vehicle seat and protect upholstery
from permanent indentations caused by child safety seats.
But
the excitement was far from over. In 2005, Sunshine Kids transformed
the industry for a second time with the introduction of the Radian Car
Seat, the first steel-reinforced folding car seat designed to make
travel and storage more convenient than ever… then again in 2007 with
the roll out of the Monterey booster seat, the first height- and width-
adjustable child booster seat devised to accommodate children as they
continue to grow up to 63 inches tall or 120 pounds.
The
Monterey booster seat won Sunshine Kids another prestigious Mother
& Baby Award in 2008, this time for “Best Junior Car Seat,” and
both products have appeared in such magazines as Creative Child,
Parenting, Pregnancy, Pregnancy & Newborn, and Fit Pregnancy.
In
August 2008, Sunshine Kids was further recognized as one of Inc 5000’s
fastest growing companies in the U.S.
Today, with more than 80
product offerings available in 54 countries worldwide and company
offices in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada and Germany, Sunshine
Kids continues to answer families’ everyday needs with car seats,
storage solutions, and related travel and stroller accessories that
have earned the trust and respect of parents around the globe.
As
we celebrate our 10th Anniversary and reflect upon our first decade
with pride, we also look to the next ten years, and beyond, with
