Care & Content

General Care The manufacturer recommends a cold pre-wash/wash or rinse first, then a hot wash (140 degrees Fahrenheit). Do not boil your diapers as this can ruin the elastic. Use a small amount of laundry detergent each time (too much detergent can create a residue).   Use vinegar occasionally in the rinse to help keep the trainers soft. And please, no fabric softener or treatments of any kind. These can ruin a trainer's absorbency. It may not be realistic every time, but the more you can dry your diapers on low or medium the longer their life will be. How to prepare for first use Prewash/dry trainers on hot several times to reach initial absorbency.   Wash only about a dozen or so at a time for the initial pre-washes.  Wash and dry bright or dark fabrics on hot/high several times before mixing with lighter colored trainers. Depending on your water source and temperature, you may need fewer or additional washings, so always test colorfastness before mixing wet diapers of varying colors (e.g., toss in a white rag during a hot wash and dry cycle or two)

About the Fabric Two layers of 100% fair trade organic velour cotton, with a third layer tucked into the wet zone and hidden by some very sporty stitching! * Please note that Little Beetles in Jitterbug Red and Lotus Purple are made with a new fabric on the outside layer. It's still a wonderfully soft organic cotton velour but for stability, 20% (post consumer) recycled polyester has been added to the backing. The white fabric inside remains 100% organic cotton. About Better for Babies

The Little Beetle diaper line is now being made in our own fair wage US facility just 5 miles from BFB headquarters.

Little Beetle Learners are still being made in India with our certified fair trade cotton in a facility regularly inspected for its organic and fair labor practices. We remain impressed by their quality and workmanship.

Many of our Little Beetle Hemp diapers and some of our Little Beetle organic wool covers and shorts are still made north of Atlanta, GA by a work at home mother who got us started along with her friend.

We will continue to do all we can to contribute to the growth of fair labor practices both in the US and abroad.
