Care & Content

General
Care
Wool
is so easy to care for. It should be washed every one to two weeks, or
when soiled. To keep it leak-proof, wool should be lanolized about
once a month. Disana Organic Wool Covers must be hand-washed!
Washing Hand wash with lukewarm
water and a tablespoon of Sudz-n-Dudz wool wash. Let sit for up to
thirty minutes. Remove from water, roll in towel to dry, squeeze out excess moisture, but do not rinse! Hang or lay flat to dry. Do not rub
or wring.
Lanolizing Submerge
the cover in a sink full of lukewarm water with the inside facing up.
Take 1/2 teaspoon of lanolin, 1 teaspoon of your favorite baby soap,
and place both in 1/2-1 cup of water and microwave until the lanolin is
runny (30-90 seconds). Now shake the mixture until it becomes a milky
white color. If there are still visible globs of lanolin in the
mixture, add more baby soap and shake again until the lanolin is
completely emulsified and the mixture is milky white. Pour over your
cover. Swish the cover around in the water, let it soak for 20-30
minutes, roll in towel to dry squeeze out excess moisture, but do not
rinse. Hang or lay flat until dry.
The inside of the cover will
be sticky to the touch for the first day or so.
How much lanolin
you add depends on how long you want
to go before relanolizing. The more lanolin you add (up to 1 1/2
teaspoons), the more sticky the cover will be, but the longer it will
repel liquids.
Wool
Wash Bar Use a wool wash bar to clean off messes from your wool cover
instead of washing. Just hang dry.
How
to prepare for first use
Wool covers should be washed and then
lanolized before their first use. See directions above.

About Disana
The firm's fate has been guided by the couple who founded it, Dieter
and Imma Sautter. And that was over 25 years ago. Like so many newly established enterprises, it began in the garage of
their home. At first, it served as a second income for a growing family and their
increasing needs. With much hard work, courage and skill, the Sautters
built it up into a solid business which had soon found its place in the
textile scene. Both have influenced the name for the articles which together they have
developed and marketed. The first letters of the names of Dieter and
Imma Sautter as well as the word Natural textiles were assembled to
establish our trade name "disana". The fact that the name of the ancient goddess of health and healing
"Sana" is also contained within our trademark is fully apt. The philosophy of our products is "Healthy clothing not only for little
people".
We are consciously committed to in-house production, as we consider
this to be the only way to maintain the high ecological and handcrafted
standards of our products. This also allows us plan exactly and
oversee every step of production. And because we make everything ourselves we can respond promptly to the
wishes and suggestions of our customers.
All our products are made of pure natural fibres which remain organic
cotton, organic wool and silk. The high quality of our raw material is
guaranteed by the fact that we have been working together with our
suppliers for years. As a member of the „International Natural Textiles Association IVN“ we
commit to produce under strict ecological guidelines. From the
cultivation of the raw materials through to the completed garments,
every stage of our work complies with the ecological requirements. Even
all extras like buttons and serving thread are made from naturally
recurring raw materials. This is controlled by independent bodies and
substantiated by regular chemical analysis of our products.
