Rumparooz One-Size Pocket Diapers

Rumparooz are fabulous one-size diapers (and that means a lot coming from all of us at Jillians Drawers)! They have so many features, where do we begin!? Inner double gussets, 4 size snap settings, less bulk, super absorbent inserts, better fit for newborns!

Seriously though, the inner gusset of the fleece inside the diaper is a unique-to-Rumparooz-feature that we really love. These one-size pockets also fit a bit smaller than many other brands.

The waterproof material Kanga Care uses on the Rumpā€¢aā€¢roozĀ®, Lilā€¢Joey (and any other waterproof products) is TPU, not PUL. PUL is a polyester fabric that has been laminated with a poly-urethane laminate using a solvent and chemical process. This process off-gases harmful toxic fumes that destroy the building that the fabric is produced in.Ā

In 2008, Kanga Care started using a biodegradable TPU waterproof material. Biodegradable TPU is solvent-free. Biodegradable TPU is a polyester fabric that has been laminated with a thermoplastic polyurethane using a heat bonding process. This process is low in toxicity and is better for the natural environment. Both the TPU laminate and the polyester fabric the laminate is applied to are biodegradable.Ā  When composted they will biodegrade in 4-5 years.

Care

From the manufacturer:
1.Ā  Cold rinse
2.Ā  Hot wash - cold rinse: only add 1/2-1/4 the recommended amount of detergent for the appropriate load size. (Please see our detergent recommendations below)
3.Ā  Cold rinse
4.Ā  Tumble dry low or hang dry.

HE Machines
Please do not use the sanitize cycle on your Rumparooz pockets.Ā  You may use that cycle on your inserts.Ā  The high temperature is not good for the laminate and can melt the laminate bond.Ā  Rumparooz use a TPU process for their PUL which is a heat bonding method and NOT a chemical solvent process.Ā  The TPU process is earth friendly! The only portion of the diaper that can withstand the heat of the sanitize cycle would be the inserts.Ā  If you are having residue or stink issues and feel that the sanitize cycle is in order, please use feel free to sanitize your inserts as that is most likely where the issue is held. Washing your pockets on the sanitize cycle will void the warranty.

How to prepare for first use

We recommend washing and drying yourĀ Rumparooz One-Size Pocket Diapers one time before use. Be sure to fasten aplix (hook & loop) closures before washing. It is not recommended to dry diaper covers on high heat. Low heat or line drying is best. That's it!

What is not under warranty? What is not considered a defect?

Wicking and or leaking are not a defect of any diaper. Most causes of leaking or wicking is due to the saturation of the inserts. This can easily be resolved by either changing the diaper more frequently, adding an additional insert as a booster or re-configuring your 6r soaker. AĀ Bamboo or Hemp 6r soakerĀ will also increase the absorbency without adding bulk to the diaper. Another frequent cause is due to sizing. If you have a RumparoozĀ® one size cloth diaper you can test this out by adjusting the diaper to the rise setting either up or down. If a diaper is too small or too big it can leak and/or wick.

Repelling, staining and sizing/fit issues.

General wear and tear of materials from wash and use. Due to the nature of some of our natural fabrics excessive use can result in small holes of the items. Elastic that has been dissolved or become corroded due to detergents or cleaning agents that are not on theirĀ recommended listĀ or have given out due to time, wear and tear are not covered under the warranty.Ā

Neglect of recommended wash and care guidelines. TPU/PUL delamination and seam sealing separation that has occurred from improper wash and care, water temperatures, detergents, laundry additives or advised against methods are not covered under warranty.

How to maintain your warranty:

  • To keep your elastic in good health please keep a few things in mind. Your elastic will last longer if you do not stuff your diapers while warm and fresh out of the dryer. This is a very common action that results in "too stretched out" elastic. Let diapers cool completely before folding or stuffing.
  • Please do not soak your diapers, covers, wet bags or pail liners in any type of water, detergent, formula or chemical(s) for any amount of time. Doing so can break down the durability of the elastic and cause it to become dry and brittle. Much like an old rubber band, when stretching it out, the elastic may crumble. This issue is easy to diagnose. Borax based detergents will cause this to happen as well. Soaking can also cause the waterproof laminate to wear out prematurely or even detach/peel away from the fabric (this is called delamination.)Ā
  • The use of the sanitize cycle is not recommended for any Kanga Care products, other then inserts. The use of the sanitize cycle on Wet Bags and Pail Liners will cause the seam sealing to detach as the temperature is too hot and melts the bond/glue. The sanitize cycle can also cause the bond between the laminate and the fabric on the diapers, Wet Bags, Pail Liners, diaper covers and changing pads to separate.Ā
  • Washing any Kanga Care products in water temperatures in excess of 130ĀŗF can cause damage and would not be covered under the manufacturers warranty. Water temperatures that exceed 130ĀŗF (53ĀŗC) will prematurely age diapers and diapering accessories, including, but not limited to, TPU/PUL demalination and seam sealing separation.
